Stormly Update: Custom Labeling and Formatting

This week, we’re excited to announce a new feature at Stormly: the ability to format individual values on charts and tables.

This is a great way to customize your data visualizations for greater clarity and insight. For example, you can now rename a funnel step or line chart series, and apply separate formatting to that value with its own prefix, formula, decimals, etc.

This new feature gives you more control over how your data is displayed, so you can get the most out of your Stormly account.

If you want to format individual values on any chart or table, simply hover over the chart or table and open up the formatting dialog.

Then pick a specific value from the “Format value” dropdown. This is a great way to highlight important data points, or to call out unusual values.

One thing to note about our new data formatting feature is that if you want to prefix or postfix values on the vertical axis of a line chart, you need to do so under the ”- All Values -“ option. Otherwise, the formatting will only appear when hovering over a specific value, and not on the axis itself.

Being able to format individual values on charts and tables can be very helpful when trying to compare different data sets.

For example, if you are trying to compare the performance of different funnel steps, being able to edit the data so that the names of the funnel steps are consistent across all of the data sets can make it much easier to see how each step is performing.

This can be also beneficial when it happens that the data sets used different terminology for the same funnel steps. By being able to quickly edit the data, you can avoid any confusion or inaccuracies in the various comparisons.

Or when using unified funnel steps. Say we have a last funnel step which counts as conversion if either “Signup From Social” or “Signup From Email “ was triggered, we can then simply reformat the label of that last step in the funnel to “All Signups”.

This is just one example of how this ability can be used to make comparisons between different data sets easier. In general, having the ability to format individual values can save time and prevent errors, making it a valuable tool for any business.
